Kimberlee Archie provides dynamic management consulting as the CEO and Principal of Knowledge + Skills = Options Consulting, LLC within the sectors of non-profits, local government, higher education, and private organizations. Since 1997, services have included facilitation, training, planning, curricula development, coaching and strategy design. Kimberlee’s purpose is to disrupt the status quo of structural racism and maximize the capacity of clients to serve the larger community equitably.
Ms. Archie received her undergraduate degree in social welfare from the University of Washington in Seattle, where she originates. Her graduate degree in education with a concentration in training and performance improvement was obtained from Capella University. Kimberlee’s focus on social justice began during her undergraduate education as a trained facilitator with Intergroup Dialogue, Education, and Action (IDEA) research. In 2003, she attended training by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, which is when Kimberlee transitioned her focus to racial equity and social justice while working at United Way of King County. The work deepened through her role with the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Making Connections White Center site and in her role as Deputy Director of the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.
Kimberlee was the inaugural director of the Office of Equity & Inclusion with the City of Asheville, NC. She developed and implemented the capacity and infrastructure for local government to analyze its policies, practices, and procedures using an equity lens and decision-making to eliminate racial disparities. Externally, she influenced and partnered to embed equity within other public and private organizations, such as Buncombe County government, Asheville City Schools and UNC Asheville, ensuring improved outcomes for all of Asheville.
Kimberlee maximizes her opportunities to practice leadership. She has been requested to inspire, motivate, instruct, advise, and coach across the country. She has been invited to facilitate learning sessions and keynote at convenings and conferences and is frequently asked to advise the Government Alliance for Race and Equity member jurisdictions on operationalizing racial equity.
Ms. Archie is a proud recipient of the State of Washington Governor’s 2010 Innovation Award for inclusive outreach and engagement and the ELGL 2019 Treager Award, which recognized her as a top ten influencer in local government. Knowledge + Skills = Options Consulting received the 2020 ELGL Haverford award, recognizing it as a top 25 business serving local government.
